University Institute of Technology

University Institute of Technology (UIT) Pirappancode is a beacon of learning and innovation since its inception in 2001 as an affiliated institution under The University of Kerala. The Institution is managed directly by the University of Kerala. The institution is administered by the College Development Committee, chaired by Shri Koliakode N Krishnan Nair, which oversees its development and governance. It is located at 1.5 kms away from Venjaramoodu town close to the Thycadu – Kazhakootam bye pass road.

The center started with 2 UG Programmes – B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Com with Computer Applications in 2001 and in the year 2003 BBA was started. The Office Building and Computer Laboratory were inaugurated in 2004 by Shri Koliyakode N. Krishnan Nair. With the additional support of MLA Shri Varkala Radhakrishnan, the Academic Block was commissioned in 2006, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s infrastructural development.

Subsequently the Academic Block II was commissioned in 2010 with financial assistance from MLA Smt. J. Arundhathi. The expansion of academic facilities reflected the institution’s growing commitment to providing quality higher education. In 2013 M.Com department began in the institution.

In 2014, a Multipurpose Hall-cum-Auditorium was inaugurated with funding from MP Shri Palode Ravi. The facility continues to serve as a central venue for academic, cultural, and community-oriented activities.

To enhance campus amenities and ensure greater convenience for students, a dedicated Ladies’ Restroom Block was constructed and inaugurated in 2018 with the support of MLA Shri P. Sambath.

MA in English literature was added to the institution in 2018.

The College Development Committee has consistently played a pivotal role in the institution’s growth and progress. Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the holistic development of the college, the Committee fully funded and oversaw the construction of Academic Block III, which was commissioned in 2022.
